Iran with 35 films and France with 17 films have the largest number of participating pictures in the festival.

Other countries whose productions are present at the event are Spain, Russia, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, United States, China, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Argentina, Bulgaria, Myanmar, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Australia, Netherlands, Belgium, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Croatia, Brazil, Columbia, Cambodia, Ecuador, Moldavia, Indonesia, Iraq, Canada, Jordan, Finland, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Denmark, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Ukraine and United Arab Emirates are also partaking in the festival.

Some of the movies are joint productions.

Established in 1982, Fajr International Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th International Fajr Film Festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
